Overview

ISL was approached by a Fortune 500 company who had a particular SMT dynamic speaker go end-of-life from the original manufacturer, NXP. This specific SMT dynamic speaker is used inside glucose meters worldwide.

Challenge

ISL had to offer a replacement SMT dynamic speaker specific to the customer’s application. The ISL speaker had to fit the same foot print and offer the same acoustical performance as the incumbent speaker. If ISL was unable to offer a drop in replacement, the customer would have to do a full product redesign.

Solution

Through extensive collaboration with the customer, ISL and its team of engineers developed, manufactured and supplied an SMT dynamic speaker that performed above the customer’s expectations.
